Feedback

We’ve been using Pecode Software as our QA team for several years now. They take care of all aspects of QA including test case management, testing, and bug fix verification. It’s a great relationship that works well for us. Despite being in a timezone halfway around the world, and in different native languages, we had no communication issues, and the partnership worked extremely well. I highly recommend Pecode Software!

About the project

Homeroom is a platform that provides support for after-school enrichment programs, summer camps, and extended care programs. It is used by schools across the U.S., from small privately-run organizations to major public institutions.

The platform streamlines the process of managing class/program registration, purchase, enrollment, refunds, attendance, etc. It’s designed to facilitate the administration of after-school programs or extended care programs for parent-teacher associations or school administrations.

With Homeroom, parents and students can find information about such after-class activities as extended day programs, camps, and enrichment programs.

.

The challenge that we faced

The biggest challenge for the QA team was to ensure flawless performance and intuitive user experience. The platform is supposed to be robust, user-friendly, and optimized for different platforms and browsers.

The website’s main user is the person who’s administering the after-school program or extended care program. Instructors use the platform to take attendance.

Our team was responsible for developing a test plan and test strategy, executing test cases and checklists, identifying bugs and generating reports, collaborating with the development team, and optimizing the testing process.

.

Solution we provided

We started with a clear outline of the customized QA workflow as per the client’s requirements.

Our MQA team applied a flexible cooperation model that depended on the client’s reviews and feedback.

To make this flow work, we were closely communicating with the core development team to improve the platform’s overall quality while focusing strongly on each of the following aspects:

  1. Usability testing
  2. Functional/non-functional testing
  3. Exploratory, smoke, regression, and confirmation testing
  4. Cross-platform testing (Web/Mobile/IOS and Android system)
  5. Cross-browser testing (Google Chrome/Microsoft Edge/Safari)
  6. Creating clear test documentation
  7. Checklist and test case execution
  8. Providing clear and informative bug reports
  9. Close cooperation with the development team
  10. Testing different payment methods

.

Result

We successfully executed a series of QA activities that resulted in big gains. We can single out the following achievements:

  • Improved Quality: The product is now more robust, dependable, and user-friendly.
  • Enhanced User Experience: The software product has fewer problems and bugs that can interfere with the user’s experience.
  • Increased Productivity: The software is now more efficient, which leads to improved end-user productivity.
  • Adding new functionality that works correctly: The software now has more advanced features which all work as intended.

The cooperation with Homeroom was an excellent opportunity for us. We’re always happy to take part in projects that are socially important and drive innovations.
