In this case study, we outline the outcome of our work on the Inner Dimension TV app.

Brief summary 

  • Our main task was to redevelop the existing Inner Dimension TV app in React Native to improve performance and ensure a consistent user experience across both Android and iOS platforms.
  • In terms of the project, we involved a team of 2 React native developers, a QA specialist, a business analyst, and a project manager. We implemented a number of features to enhance performance and increase user satisfaction. Our specialist also provided seamless adaptivity for different IOS and Android devices. QA specialists conducted a series of testing activities to identify and address bugs.
  • We successfully finished the confirmed scope of work and still continue our collaboration for the app’s maintenance and support.

About the project

Inner Dimension TV is a premium online streaming service offering a wide range of yoga and meditation content. 

The project was founded by co-CEOs and world-renowned yoga instructors Travis Eliot and Lauren Eckstrom. Their initial purpose was not only to make people fall in love with sports and self-care but to improve the overall well-being of individuals and help them unlock the highest potential in body, energy, mind, heart, wisdom, and soul without even leaving their homes.  

The distinctiveness of this project is in the sense of belonging and community that it promotes.

The client’s request

The client reached out to us with the request to redevelop their existing app in React Native to improve performance and ensure a consistent user experience across both Android and iOS platforms. Our main tasks were to implement a number of new features, optimize the UI, and provide adaptivity for the IOS and Android tablets. The back-end and Admin panel were provided by the customer side.

The challenge that we faced

Most of the development process was seamless, but we faced a challenge with the implementation of the video player chosen by the customer. The player did not provide all the features required for the app. Having discussed it with the client, we decided to use the external player for online and prepare a custom one for offline playback. 

Solutions we provided

Our team was responsible for adding new features, UI optimization, QA processes, and certain business analytics activities. 

The main features we implemented include 

  • Authentication. This ensures seamless log-in/out and password reset.
  • Content browsing and searching. This was added to make it easier for users to select videos through content filtering and personalized recommendations.
  • Content details and interaction. This feature ensures the end user’s comfort while doing exercises, enables displaying videos on the big screen, and allows for sharing. 
  • Manage favorites. We implemented this feature to simplify user interactions with the content.
  • Downloading for offline viewing. This feature makes videos available anytime and anywhere.
  • Rating and reviewing content. This allows users to share thoughts and impressions about a particular video to help others choose the right routine.
  • Statistics on app usage and a strike progress bar. These features help users track their progress daily. 
  • App settings management. We provided customization opportunities in order to allow highly personalized user experiences.
  • Announcements and notifications. These show the latest news and encourage users to take offline yoga trips with professional teachers. 

Result

Our collaboration with the client was successful for the Inner Dimension TV project and resulted in considerable achievements.
